    Many thanks to Ellen McCormack who has pointed out the following correction to the caption of the photograph:
    According to Adela's book [page 153 of the 1996 blue version] this photograph was taken in 1904 during a visit by Mr Reid (of the NZ Herald), his wife and a photographer, at the time the Stewarts were trying to sell their property.
